Find the tempo of a song in a few seconds. Drop in an audio file and get its BPM. It runs in your browser, so the file is never uploaded.

WaveMotion is a free music visualizer. Its visuals hit on the same beats this finder counts: the kick drives the pulse, the bass drives the glow. Export an MP4 with no watermark.
Frequently asked questions
No. The file is decoded and analysed in your browser. It does not leave your computer.
It measures how the sound changes from moment to moment, finds the hits, and looks for the interval at which they repeat. The strongest repeat between 60 and 200 BPM is the tempo.
A song at 87 BPM and a song at 174 BPM can have the same hits. When that happens, the finder picks the one closer to common tempos and shows the other one under the result.
Any audio file your browser can play: MP3, WAV, AAC, M4A, FLAC and OGG in most browsers. Songs with a steady beat give the most exact result.
